Image grid templates for Sweeter Home

In Edit Mode Sweeter Home blocks align into a 16×16 grid. Due to different screen resolutions this means the actual pixel size of each grid division is different depending on the device you’re using.

To help those of you who like to create custom images for their themes, and want to get your image alignment perfect, attached are PSD (Photoshop) files with a graphical (pixel) grid on a layer as well as actual Photoshop guides already laid out for you. At the moment I’m supplying portrait only.

Note: I’m fairly sure these will open with grids included in The GIMP, which is free.

An important note: these PSD files are NOT the same size as the screen resolution of your device. But this is correct because they exclude the pixels used by the notification bar in Android.

WVGA (for 480×800)
Nexus One, Galaxy S, Desire, Desire HD, EVO etc

HVGA (for 320×480)
G1, Magic, Legend, Backflip etc

FWVGA (for 480×854)
Droid, Defy, X10 etc

QVGA (for 240×320)
X10 mini, X10 mini pro, IDEOS etc

About Lemon

I got hold of Sweeter Home (preview 1) when it first showed up in the Android Market. After a day or two I quickly realised the potential this Home Replacement had, and built a couple of demo Sweeter Home themes to show what this Launcher was capable of (you might be familiar with the Matrix theme video on YouTube). I started this blog in response to the initial popularity of those videos. Since then I've had the pleasure of lending ideas and beta testing for the developer of Sweeter Home.

Wow thank you for posting these. It took me like forever getting the last theme “Appleish” aligned right on my droid. This will definitely make things easier in the future.

landscape would just be 90 deg rotate correct?

  3. Speedy0307 says:

Lemon – do you know the dimensions for the Moment? I tried using the G1/Magic template but it didn’t seem to match up correctly. Thanks.

  4. Lemon says:

Can you take a screen shot from the app and email it to me?

Actually I just checked the specs. It’s 320*480, just like the G1 and Magic.

  5. Speedy0307 says:

Sorry, had a retard moment. The resolution on my image some how got changed to 320*455… not sure how, but now the image looks great at 320*480. Thanks.

  8. Liddo says:

I wish I found this when I BEFORE I made my Pokemon skin.

  9. Taffypride says:

Have you got a template for LDPI (320×240 res) phone, or can I take one of the others and use that instead?

  10. Taffypride says:

Hey Lemon, here is a template for Portrait and Landscape for LDPI (240×320) if you want….

Figured out how to do the grids in Photoshop and so took the time using my Vodafone 845 to make the template for you. Should have most screen resolutions up there now :)

File is here and has both a 240×304 Portrait and a 320×224 Landscape PSD file
