Friday Feature – 9 April
Today we’re looking at 2 themes – variations for QVGA and WVGA screens!
Based on the endlessly popular LCARS Star Trek UI, theme builder genei09 dropped Treking for high res screens on the Sweeter Home theme list a little while ago, then updated this to TrekingForBuild7 which had some small updates due to a change in the Sweeter Home springboard framework.
Then dethduck got up and edited the theme down to a QVGA size released as Treking320; the perfect compliment to genei09′s version.

This week we feature MetalDock by rufinorosado. As well as using a slick custom dock graphic, rufinorosado has shown great creativity in dealing with a paradigm of Sweeter Home and using it to an advantage of his design. Sweeter Home requires ‘blank’ screen space to drag from screen to screen, so here we see an arrow tab which allows you to swipe to the bottom screen revealing the apps tray. It’s a great solution, looks cool and works well. (You can see the tab in mid-swipe on the right below). MetalDock is available for download now.

Featured today is a theme that quickly became one of the most downloaded on the Sweeter Home server Theme List to date. SmallCaps by elblacksheep is one of the most polished of many “clean and simple” themes. It’s focus is being lightweight and clear in it’s layout.

Friday Feature!

Starting this week – every Friday I’ll be featuring a Sweeter Home theme from you readers out there. The theme must be live and downloadable from the Sweeter Home theme list, or the SLX must be available online.
The best place for you to show off your themes is in the Themes Forum, but I may find themes from browsing other Android forums, or in the SH theme list itself. We want you to SHARE!
I’ll be picking themes that use custom content, or inventive layouts, or clean, beautiful design – OR a combination of all these.
So for consideration post your theme previews up for all to see!

Star Wars theme

Thanks to reader Jay for emailing me these screen shots. He’s used some tips and tricks from this blog and created his own Star Wars theme in Sweeter Home. Darth Vader looks great on that middle screen! Makes me feel like he’s looking right at me.
