Asket 1.0 (THEME)

May 3, 2009 by Lemon · 13 Comments

This post is no longer valid. The attached theme links will NOT WORK in Sweeter Home 2. Go here for current themes. Visit sweeterhome.com to get Sweeter Home 2.

(Images fixed – if you tried it previously use the same download link below and install Asket 1.1 – Thanks)

This went through a few iterations. As we get more functionality in Sweeter Home I’ll keep updating it. The left, right and top screens have docks set up with empty action trays, so you can drag any application in as required, or long press to add apps, contacts, shortcuts etc.

Asket 1.1 (download)

Landscape format skinned: No
Onscreen help: No
Readme: Yes (PLEASE READ IT, CONTAINS IMPORTANT SETUP INFO)
Background: any!
DEV KIT: PSD file for download – change the menus to suit

IMPORTANT: Sweeter Home is in Beta. Some springboards do not currently save in the theme so to set up springboards correctly install Asket and follow the instructions as per the following:

Middle Screen – Contacts seems to remain OK in the saved theme so…
Long-Press SMS > Springboard > Recent SMS
Long-Press Calls > Springboard > Recent Calls
Long-Press Tools > Springboard > W Tools
Long-Press All Apps > Springboard > Application Grid
Long-Press Agenda > Springboard > Upcoming Events

About Lemon
I got hold of Sweeter Home when it first showed up in the Android Market. After a day or two I quickly realised the potential this Home Replacement had, and built a couple of demo themes to demonstrate Sweeter Home's potential (you might be familiar with the Matrix theme video on YouTube). I started this blog in response to the initial popularity of those videos. Since then I've had the pleasure of lending ideas and beta testing for the developer of Sweeter Home.

Looks like in my rush I’ve omitted to include the URL images. Standby will update within the hour.

Hey! I really love this theme.
I downloaded and put it on my phone last night, but it has a lot of bugs. I dont know its the theme or sweeter home but sometimes, the springboard doesnt register what you want it to have. It instead gets another app..for example, when you want to set SMS for “Recent SMS” it instead gets “App Grid lines” Its really frustrating however I really do love this theme. It makes the g1 stand out. If only sweeterhome had a way to implement widgets onto this theme, then it would be perfect.

Oh, and at times, when pressing home to get into the “sweethome” screen, it takes an unbelievable amount of time just for it to load. Other than that, its prefect. I would actually keep it despite its flaws. I hope it gets better, and keep up your great work!

Dude, the icons in that menu need to be set up in order. Long click and drag the icons out to empty it, then follow the instructions in order to set them up again.

Let me know if you have probs…

If you don’t understand what unzipping is, you need to get someone to help you. Then you’ll be fine.

    Hey Lemon –

I was trying to use this theme, but for some reason I am having a really hard time getting the springboards setup for the items on the main screen (Contacts, SMS, Calls, Tools, All Apps, and Agenda).

The first three seem to set up alright, but whenever I try to get the Tools, All Apps, and Agenda working they never seem to maintain the springboard that I apply to them. The springboards seem to randomize themselves and just apply to one of those three, but not the one I assigned it to.

I've tried removing, reapplying, and just about anything else I can think of. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Trent

    hi there,

Congrats for the creativity work that you have done as shown on this web. i do like it

i recently installed sweeter home and i find it very interesting. i love the level of customisation that it allows.

One drop down at the moment is that sweeter home doesn’t allow to add widgets though i saw some videos on youtube showing a clock widget and someone using sweeter home preview 2.

i have search the market and i cannot find anything apart from home preview 1. Is there preview 2 on the market and is there a way to add widgets with preview 1?

    Thanks ,
    Angel

Preview 2 is due out hopefully before Christmas.
